- 1857 Feb.22 Birth of Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, Paddington, London.
- 1870 Started his boarding school experience at Charterhouse.
- 1876 Commissioned 2/Lt. in the 13th Hussars - Posted to India.
- 1889 Birth of Olave St. Clair Soames.
- 1899 Siege of Mafeking ended - B-P was made Major General (Aids to Scouting was published)
- 1907 July 31st. 21 boys taken to Brownsea Island for first Boy Scout Camp (Scouting for Boys published)
- 1908 Scouting started in Canada
- 1909 Sept.4th. First Scout Rally at Crystal Palace (11,000 Scouts attended)
- 1909 Oct. - Knighted, B-P gave up the army for full time scouting
- 1910 Girl Guides was founded (B-P's sister Agnes), B-P made his first visit to Canada
- 1911 Policy-Organization and Rules published. Canadian Scouts attend coronation of King George V
- 1912 On a trip to Trinidad, met Olive St. Clair Soames and married her.
- 1913 July 11-21. First Canadian Leader Training Course held at St. Andrew's College, Toronto
- 1914 Boy Scouts of Canada was incorporated by act of parliament. Experimental Cub Program started in Goderich, Ontario
- 1916 Wrote the "Wolf Cub Handbook", Cubbing officially started in Canada
- 1917 Introduction of Sea Scout and Rover Scout programs
- 1918 Wrote "Rovering to Success"
- 1919 Gilwell Park donated by duBois MacLaren
- 1920 B-P proclaimed Chief Scout of the World, First World Jamboree, England
- 1922 20 leaders attended the 1st Can. Wood Badge Course in Ottawa
- 1924 2nd World Jamboree - Denmark, 1st & 2nd Canadian staffed Wood Badge Courses held
- 1929 3rd World Jamboree - England, B-P created a Baron with the title Lord Baden-Powell of Gilwell
- 1932 First Apple Day was held in Canada
- 1933 4th World Jamboree - Hungary
- 1935 B-P's last visit to Canada
- 1936 Blue Springs Scout Reserve was purchased
- 1937 5th World Jamboree - Holland
- 1941 B-P died in retirement in Kenya at age 84, buried at Nairobi
- 1947 6th World Jamboree - France
- 1949 1st Canadian Scout Jamboree held at Connaught Ranges outside Ottawa
- 1951 7th World Jamboree held in Austria
- 1953 2nd Canadian Jamboree at Connaught Ranges
- 1955 8th World Jamboree - Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
- 1957 9th World Jamboree (Jubilee Jamboree) - England
- 1959 10th World Jamboree - Philippines
- 1961 3rd Canadian Jamboree - Connaught Ranges
